THE STORY
OF
MAIDENS BARN
For over 200 years Maidens Farm has been in our family. The Elm Barn was used for storing hay, grain and potatoes over the years until 1975. Over the years the Elm Barn became dilapidated and it suffered major damage in the 1987 storm. At this point discussions were had to take it down, but in the end it was pulled up right by tractors! Clive and Katherine decided in 1999 to refurbish the Barn ready for a significant birthday in 2001. After that, having got so far we decided to open as a wedding venue. Maidens Barn has now been running for 19 years. Alex, Katherines son joined the company in 2013 and worked alongside Clive & Katherine and now he and his wife Sam are running Maidens Barn.
WHY WE LOVE WHAT WE DO
We love being a part of each couples journey from the 1st viewing to seeing them tying the knot surrounded by all of their friends and family. Each couples personalities, guests and decorations are so different and individual which makes our jobs so fun and interesting! We love getting to know the couples and quite often by their wedding day, we feel they are more like friends than clients.
Our team below consists of Alex, Mercedes, Sam & Elliott. Between them all they have clocked up over 30 years of experience working in the wedding industry. Alex will be around on your wedding day, overseeing the activities on the day. Mercedes & Sam are based in the office and will do most of the planning with you, as well as overseeing your wedding day. Elliott heads up our bar team and will be the last member of Maidens Barn staff you see at the end of your wedding day.
