Oak Barn Wedding                   Ceremonies

The Oak Barn provides the perfect setting for both intimate weddings as well as larger wedding celebrations. Chairs can be arranged in a traditional format or in a relaxed curve if you prefer, which depends on your numbers. The Oak Barn has a high, beamed roof with numerous windows and French doors. The Oak Barn is named after the ancient Oak Tree which you will see when saying your vows.

​We don’t charge any extra for hosting your ceremony at Maidens Barn but there are fees due to the Chelmsford District Council’s local Registrar. The fees applicable for civil weddings at an approved premises in Essex can be found here. Our local Registration office can be contacted by phone on 0345 603 7632.

Outside Wedding                Ceremonies

The flowering arbour provides a romantic and enchantingly beautiful spot for a unique outdoor wedding ceremony.

Outside seating can be provided for up to 200 guests. We will keep a close watch on the forecasted weather in the week leading up to your wedding but a final decision will be made at 10am on the morning of your big day.

Church Wedding 
    Ceremonies

For Anglican weddings, please contact your local church to arrange your wedding or contact one of our local parish Churches; St. Mary’s in High Easter. Or Holy Trinity in Pleshey. Both Churches always give a very warm welcome to couples who want a church wedding close to Maidens Barn.

There are plenty of other churches in the surrounding area and around Chelmsford, Braintree and Bishop Stortford. For more information about Church of England Weddings please visit their website.
